After going to Boston Market and trying their cornbread, I rushed home and tried making my own! Taste great when you add sugar to the mix and it's quick and easy :)

Ingredients and spices that need to be prepared to make Southern Cornbread:

  1. 2 packages Jiffy Corn Mix
  2. 2 Eggs
  3. 1 Milk
  4. 1 as needed Vegetable Oil or Spray
  5. 1/4 as needed Sugar

Steps to make a Southern Cornbread

1
Preheat oven at 400?F. If it is your first time or you would like to take your time, aim for about 350-375 degrees F.
2
Grab a bowl and put the two packages of Jiffy Corn Mix, milk, and the two eggs. Stir right after.
3
It will still be a little lumpy as said on the box so don't freak out :). Pour as much sugar as you like (or none at all). I do a little less than 1/4 cup. This will give it a better taste. And once again Stir.
4
Let the mix settle for a minute or so.
5
In the mean time, with the oil or cooking spray, grease all around the edges of the pan you are using. This way it won't stick and it'll be easier to clean!
6
Pour in your mix. Grab the pan and move the mix around gently to make sure it spreads.
7
Place in the oven and let it bake for about 15-20 minutes.
8
You will know when it is ready when the top becomes a dark shade of brown and the top is stiff. If you touch the top and it sinks in, leave it for a few more minutes.
9
Once done you can cut it depending how big you want your pieces. I cut mine into 9 pieces (3 in each row)
