Ingredients and spices that need to be prepared to make Bulalo Special:

  1. 1 kg Beef Shanks
  2. 10 pieces Green Beans (Baguio Beans)
  3. 1 small Cabbage, leaves separated
  4. 1 corn, cut into 3 parts
  5. 1 medium Onion, sliced
  6. 1 tbsp Black peppercorns
  7. 1 cup beef stock
  8. 1 tbsp fish sauce
  9. 2 Onion leeks, chopped
  10. water

Steps to make a Bulalo Special

In a large pot over medium heat, bring enough water to cover meat. Add beef shanks and bring to a boil.

Add the onion and peppercorn. Lower the heat and simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is fork tender.

Add beef stock, corn and fish sauce. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the green beans and cabbage. Cook for about 2 minutes or until vegetables are tender yet crisp.

Serve hot and sprinkle with onion leeks. Enjoy!
