  20. 28 oz can whole tomatoes
  21. 1/2 cup to 1 cup water (optional)

Steps to make a Turkey Meatballs

Make meatball mixture

Heat medium skillet and add olive oil

When oil begins to smoke, add onions, garlic and pinch of salt.

Cook onions over medium heat 5- 8 min. Remove from heat and set aside.

In lrge bowl, spread turkey out and season with 2 tsp. salt and chili flakes. Mix with hands to blend.

Add egg, milk, parmesan, bread crumbs and parsley.

Add onions, garlic and cooking juices.

Mix all ingredients. Roll meatball and roll in some cornmeal to lightly coat exterior.

Heat some canola oil in small skillet over high heat and add meatball. Brown on all sides until cooked but pink in the middle. If wet, add breadcrumbs. If dry add egg or splash of water.

For sauce: In large skillet heat olive oil. Add onion and garlic and season with salt and red pepper flakes. Cook 3- 5 min. Add sugar and canned tomatoes. Use wooden spoon to break up tomatoes and cook 10-15 min. over medium heat, stirring from time to time. Taste for seasoning. Tomatoes should be fairly broken down. Cook few more minutes if not broken down.
