Brad's smoked brisket w/ Carolina BBQ & jalapeño cheese hushpups

There are many ways to smoke brisket. I cold smoked mine for 8 hours, then slow roasted it in the oven until it was fall apart tender. But if you have a traegar or other brand smoker you can smoke and cook the meat at the same time. The rub is a personal preference. I used paprika, cayenne, garlic, mustard, salt and pepper. I served this with jalapeño cheddar hushpuppies and baked beans. But most importantly I topped the brisket with Carolina mustard bbq sauce. I used Lauren's recipe for hushpuppies, but added my own twist to them. I used Busch's baked beans as the base, then added to them.

Back when toilet paper was a scarcity and the supermarket shelves were bare, I grabbed some dry beans. I dusted them off and soaked them overnight, hoping I’d figure out what to do with them. Chili.

This stated with a recipe from Cooking Light. I keep adjusting. One trick I use is cooking a layer at a time, adding seasoning for each new layer, based on the ingredients of that level. By doing this, the individual ingredients have their own flavors.

Easy Appetizer with Gyoza Skins, Corn, and Potato

Easy Appetizer with Gyoza Skins, Corn, and Potato

I whipped this up using seasonings I had on hand, and deep fried them!! When making gyoza dumplings, I always end up with either leftover gyoza skins or the filling. This appetizer goes great with beer!! Be sure to taste the filling before filling in the gyoza skins. If the filling is well seasoned and delicious as-is, you won't need any sauce to go with it. I usually season the filling with "Red Robin" brand seasoning, "Salad Elegance" brand seasoning (I used this to season my pasta salad too), or curry powder. Recipe by Genki jirushi shufu no moto

We also need muffins to make delicious Eggs Benedict with canadian bacon, and Eggs Royale with cured lox salmon instead of bacon. This recipe makes eight muffins, they freeze well. They are supposed to be round, but ours come out square.
