I'm native american, grew up on a rez - this is a favorite dinner staple. My sister's the queen of soups, so with her tutelage, I made a pot by myself ❤ Idk if you've ever seen the joke/meme about Natives or Mexicans not using exact measurements, but that's exactly what this entails. You measure with your heart/soul y'all. (Except the pasta in this case.)

So Sweet! Steamed Corn on the Cob

So Sweet! Steamed Corn on the Cob

I heard that cooking corn on the cob while they're still in their husks helps to keep the sweetness from seeping out, so now I always use this method. The most important point is to steam the corn with the husks. Their sweet flavor won't escape and they will be so delicious~ I think it's best to use a cast metal, non-stick pot, or an earthenware pot. Recipe by kazz72

Filipino Food Series: Baguio’s Good Shepherds Ube Halaya Custard Cake (Purple Yam Custard Cake)

Trivia: Ube halaya or halayang ube is a Philippine dessert made from boiled and mashed purple yam. Good Shepherds in Baguio, Northern Luzon part of the Philippines, makes the best Ube Halaya! You can use it for pastries and cake flavours. This is my first time to do frosting and rosette swirls :). some wants the custard on top of the cake, but in this recipe I want to make use of the Ube Halaya as frosting so I put the custard sandwiched between the cake 😊. used hand whiskers here. (Took me 30 minutes to come up with sturdy peaks 😜) #purpleyamcake #ubehalaya #filipinofoodseries #asiancuisine
