I didn't have creamed corn, but I did have frozen corn. So this pictured batch is as follows: 1 cup butter 1 bag of frozen corn 1 can of cream of celery soup 1 cup of milk 2 eggs 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix And guess what? It worked!!

I love corn soup. Since I wanted to enjoy an easy corn soup at home, this is what I came up with. It's almost unbelievably simple, but very delicious. It's my specialty. The bottom of the pan will burn easily, so once it starts bubbling, use a wooden spatula or similar utensil to slowly mix while heating. Cook over medium heat, but watch carefully and adjust as needed. I use a 435 g can of Aohata brand creamed corn. For 4 servings. Recipe by Banyangarden

I wanted to make a healthy snack made with cornmeal, so after many attempts, I came up with this. They also come out great if made with vegetable oil. If using vegetable oil, 10 g will give you a biscuit-type cookie and 20 g will give you more of a cookie texture. (adjust the amount of milk depending on how much oil you use.) Gradually add in the milk while keeping an eye on the dough. I think the amount of flour needed will differ depending on the brand. If the dough becomes too loose, use cornmeal to dust the dough with while rolling it out. Recipe by Minimame

Brad's smoked brisket w/ Carolina BBQ & jalapeño cheese hushpups

Brad's smoked brisket w/ Carolina BBQ & jalapeño cheese hushpups

There are many ways to smoke brisket. I cold smoked mine for 8 hours, then slow roasted it in the oven until it was fall apart tender. But if you have a traegar or other brand smoker you can smoke and cook the meat at the same time. The rub is a personal preference. I used paprika, cayenne, garlic, mustard, salt and pepper. I served this with jalapeño cheddar hushpuppies and baked beans. But most importantly I topped the brisket with Carolina mustard bbq sauce. I used Lauren's recipe for hushpuppies, but added my own twist to them. I used Busch's baked beans as the base, then added to them.
